What Are PresVu Drops?

The PresVu drops are designed to eliminate the need for reading glasses and treat presbyopia. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and The Drugs Controller General of India have approved Entod Pharmaceuticals' PresVu eye drops after extensive deliberation over two years. The drug has received commercialisation approval following a phase 3 clinical trial involving over 270 patients, demonstrating its efficacy. 

As reported by News18, Nikkhil K. Masurkar, chief executive officer (CEO) of Entod Pharmaceuticals, confirmed the drops are set to be available by prescription in October. 

How Do The PresVu Eye Drops Work?

The PresVu eye drops are claimed to be a miracle cure for individuals suffering from presbyopia. Presbyopia is a disorder that typically appears in individuals around their mid-40s and worsens in their late 60s. This disorder affects the eye's ability to focus on nearby objects, often resulting in the need for reading glasses.

Normal, healthy eyes can focus clearly on objects as the clear lens behind the iris adjusts its shape to focus light on the retina. However, this ability is affected for people with presbyopia. PresVu eye drops, which are made using 'pilocarpine', a key element in treating glaucoma for the last 75 years, improve visual clarity by modulating the pupil.
