Diljit Dosanjh Opened Up About Childhood Separation During BeerBiceps Interview

Punjabi music sensation and actor Diljit Dosanjh is among the most beloved artists in India, and most recently, across the globe. As the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila alongside Parineeti Chopra, he appeared on Ranveer Alahbadia’s podcast for its promotion. During the interview, the Good Newwz actor shared a heartbreaking story of how he was separated from his parents at the age of 11.

Diljit Dosanjh Recalls A Painful Childhood Experience 

During a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Diljit opened up about a significant event in his life. “I shifted from my home when I was 11. I moved to my uncle’s house in Ludhiana from my village. My uncle had told my father, ‘Send him to the city with me.’ My parents agreed and said, ‘Take him with you.’ Nobody asked me if I wanted to go or not,” he recounted.

Eventually, Diljit lost his connection with his family. "So, at the age of 11, my connection with my family broke." He added that he respects his mom a lot and called his father "adorable". Talking about his father Diljit Dosanjh said, "He hasn't ever said anything to me. He just said, 'You will get a house to live in and food to eat. Rest, it is your life."

More About Diljit Dosanjh’s Family

Diljit was born in the village of Dosanjh Kalan in Phillaur tehsil, Jalandhar district, Punjab. His father Balbir Singh previously worked as an employee of Punjab roadways and his mother, Sukhwinder Kaur, is a homemaker The singer and actor have two siblings, one elder sister and one younger brother.
