This is an Indian version of a global concept that features 50 celebrities competing together in one place, including a giant, castle-like setting in Mumbai. The series is strategic, social, and survival-centric, and not purely elimination-based. Contestants need to build a network of allies, read the situation, and cleverly outplay their competitors.
Unlike other reality shows, 'The 50' is not based on a linear elimination sequence, thus making every episode unpredictable with a focus on mind games rather than mere tasks.

Karan Patel was one of the first individuals to confirm his presence on the reality show. Karan Patel is best recognised as an actor of the hit TV series ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.’ The actor took to his Instagram handle to share an image of an unknown ‘black box’ featuring an emblem of ‘a gold lion.’

Social media celebrity Faisal, who has over 33 million fans, has also confirmed that he will be participating in the series. Faisal has earlier appeared in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. His fans in large numbers and experience in reality TV shows might prove advantageous for him.
