Actor Regena Cassandrra has established a solid and consistent career in Tamil and Telugu films. Balancing commercially successful movies with critically acclaimed performances, she carved a significant niche for herself in the South film industry. However, her Bollywood career, which has been rather limited, is something she recently spoke openly about.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Regena shared that her background sometimes led to her being stereotyped. She mentioned, "I was a south actress. Compared to most South Indians, my Hindi is way better. I can read, write and speak Hindi and all the work I have done to date in the language is in my voice. I have tried to make sure that you know I live up to the role that I've been given."

She went on to explain that she often felt out of place. "A lot of people treated me in a derogatory manner, not just with words but with actions. It's sort of a derogatory outlook towards me. And I mean anyone would be able to tell that I was being put down in a certain way. I did feel it. So I did have some inhibitions in the north. But having said that, that's not always the case, right?" she further added.
Her comments have ignited discussions about regional bias and identity in the Hindi film industry.
