Who Was Pravina Deshpande? Salman Khan’s Ready Co-Star Dies At 60

Pravina Deshpande's demise shocks the Bollywood industry, as she took her last breath on February 17, 2026, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, at the age of 60. She fought a long battle with multiple myeloma, which is a form of blood cancer.

Who was Pravina Deshpande?

Pravina made her acting debut in 2008, featuring in Mumbai Meri Jaan. Having worked on over 25 daily soaps, she was highly respected for her dedication. She was a veteran film and TV actress who had worked with major Bollywood stars like Salman Khan (Ready), where she was widely appreciated for her screen presence. She also featured in popular movies like Ek Villain alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran alongside John Abraham, and Jalebi alongside Rhea Chakraborty and Varun Mitra.

Pravina has also worked in popular TV serials like Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, Ghar Ek Mandir, Karam Apna Apna, and Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.

Her last project was a Netflix series, Tashkaree, starring Emraan Hashmi.

Pravina Deshpande's Last Rites Performed

Her last rites were performed on Tuesday at the Hindu crematorium in Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East, Mumbai, by her husband and children. "It is with great sadness that we inform you that Mrs. Pravina Deshpande has left her heavenly abode on 17th February, 2026. Cremation will be held on 17th February at 3:00 pm. Location: Hindu Crematorium, Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East," released and signed by Anirudhha, Abhimanyu, Ruchira, and Veer Deshpande.

Bollywood Mourned Pravina’s Death

Several costars, associations, fans, and admirers mourned the death of Pravina Deshpande. Actor and filmmaker Palash Dutta, who worked with her in Thanks Mom, paid a heartfelt tribute stating her as 'iron lady', whereas others praised her for her professionalism and "smiling face."

Following the announcement of her demise, the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) posted on its X platform stating, "CINTAA extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pravina Deshpande ji (member since 2008)."

Pravina Deshpande's cause of Death

Reports suggest that Parvina Deshpande was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer from few years ago. In this case, the cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, overcrowding healthy blood-forming cells. A non-cured disease, it eventually leads to bone destruction, kidney damage, anemia, and immune failure.
