The thyroid is one of the most common diseases affecting several Indians. It is a gland at the base of our neck which regulates metabolism. While in most cases, people can manage it with medicines, a few home remedies can also help to deal with its symptoms.
Depending on the type of thyroid you are struggling with, some of the common issues people experience are: weight gain or weight loss, experiencing fatigue, anxiety, nervousness, witnessing dry or coarse hair, muscular weakness, etc.
According to a 2011 report published in the National Library of Medicine, at least 42 million people in the country are battling the disease.For many people, it becomes a life-threatening disease because they struggle to manage it.
Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya, Ayurvedic Expert and Co-founder The Kadamba Tree, shared a reel on her Instagram handle talking about an ayurvedic mixture and tea that can help you manage thyroid at home.
Ayurvedic Mixture
The ayurvedic mixture is an amalgamation of many herbs with medicinal properties. The list includes pippali, amla (Benefits Of Amla), maricha, moringa, bhringraj, yastimadhu, vidanga, haridra, haritaki, and neem.
These herbs are known to help bring the TSH levels in the normal range. They reduce antibodies in the auto-immune thyroid while boosting hair growth, improving energy levels, reducing dry skin, and correcting sleep patterns. Dr Savaliya captioned that these herbs are also helpful in reducing stress. For the mixture, you will need to consult an Ayurvedic expert.
Dose of Ayurvedic Mixture: Half a teaspoon of the mixture with honey
Ayurvedic Tea
The tea is a combination of herbs and spices like curry leaves, cardamom, rose petals, cinnamon, Darjeeling green tea, and black pepper, etc. Not only will these ingredients help you manage your thyroid at home, but also detox the liver by converting T4 into T3. This tea is also a good home remedy for weight loss.
Dose of Ayurvedic Tea: 1 teaspoon of tea mixed in a cup of boiling water

It is a herb that you should consume every night before going to bed. Dr Savaliya said that consuming a teaspoon of it every day can help people find relief from constipation. It detoxes the body, improves the texture of skin and hair, and is considered good for gut health and eyes.
Nuts
According to the ayurvedic expert, you should consume nuts after 30-45 minutes of intaking the mixture. You can soak the Brazil nuts, a teaspoon of sunflower seeds, and a teaspoon of pumpkin seeds overnight.
She added that pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc and Brazil nuts and sunflower seeds are loaded with selenium. Therefore, they are considered good options to manage thyroid at home.
Nasya
Nasya is called cow ghee. Dr Savaliya said that two drops of A2 cow ghee can help a person correct their sleeping disorder and improve memory.

Moringa
In Ayurveda, moringa is one of the most crucial herbs when it comes to managing the thyroid. It is rich in iron, calcium, and vitamins C and A. It improves metabolism and contains protein in a form which can be easily digested by the body. Adding a teaspoon of it to your meals with chilla, ghee, or chapati can help you manage thyroid
