The social media community in Kerala is currently dealing with a shock due to tragic news about the sad demise of popular influencer Reshma, who is more commonly known by her social media identity, Chinnu Pappu. The young influencer has reportedly died inside her residence, and this tragic incident is giving rise to many questions about her death.

Who Was Chinnu Pappu?

Chinnu Pappu, also known as Reshma, was an active social media influencer residing in Kerala. She had gained substantial popularity as an influencer across various social media platforms, especially Instagram, where her personality was rewarded for her lifestyle content.

Reshma, hailing originally from the Kollam district of Kerala, specifically the town of Chathannoor, had come to be recognised as the maker of relatable content, and her presence had been felt as she made several collaborations with influencers from other locations. She was also remembered for her prolific positivity.

Police Investigation Underway

The local police have investigated the matter since Reshma was found hanging in her room at her husband's residence in Parippally in Kollam. It is reported that while her family members were present in the house, the act was not noticed until it was too late.

A case of unnatural death has been registered by the authorities. Although the initial indication is a possible case of suicide, the police are investigating all aspects of the case, such as possible domestic or mental health concerns the influencer might have been undergoing. Care has been taken to seize the mobile phone of the influencer to check if there are any clues about her mental condition before the incident through possible digital footprints on her phone.

Her latest post was a reel that she shared a few hours before her death. In the video, Reshma looked like her normal self, sharing a trending audio post. Her transformation, along with her happiness, has led to a deeper discussion about social media influencers and the pressures they face, as people look beyond what’s visible on her social media profile. The comments under Reshma’s last post have all changed to ‘Rest in Peace’ tributes.
