The Pakistani online community is presently plagued by a scandal involving popular TikToker Fatima Jatoi in the wake of a private video being leaked with the accompanying timestamp '6 minutes 39 seconds.' While the viral trend continues to dominate X (Twitter), Telegram, and WhatsApp in connection with the alleged claim, a sinister truth has come to light: the video leak is believed to be a ‘deepfake’ designed by AI software with the intention of ruining the reputation of the perpetrator. While the issue raises grave ethical considerations, cybersecurity specialists are warning social media participants to remain cautious. The link invoking the "original" video in the viral trend is apparently designed to lure victims into phishing sites and malware that might compromise your private information. From knowing who Fatima Jatoi is to the advanced scams that conceal their inception in the name of the aforementioned individual, below is all that you should know to remain safe in the midst of the viral trend.
Fatima Jatoi is a well-known Pakistani social media influencer as well as TikTok star who gained fame for her entertaining lip-sync videos and lifestyle content. Born and brought up in a small town in the province of Sindh, Fatima attracted a massive audience by sharing her desi looks and her experience of moving to foreign places such as Dubai. Her overnight fame as a digital social entity made her a household name for Gen Z audiences in her home country of Pakistan. However, her fame has recently been marred by a major privacy scandal that has raised a nationwide debate about the safety of social media.

In early January 2026, social media platforms such as Twitter and Telegram were flooded with claims of a leaked private video featuring Fatima Jatoi. The ‘6 minutes 39 seconds’ timestamp was trending on the microblogging platform as users searched for the original clip after being encouraged by anonymous accounts.
Fatima Jatoi broke her silence and strongly denied the authenticity of the video. She said, holding the Quran, that the tape is completely faked and AI-generated.
As a female content creator in Pakistan, there is extreme scrutiny and the ever-present danger of character assassination. Scandals going viral, whether true or generated, result in extreme repercussions and, in particular, can affect the mental wellness and familial circumstances of a content creator. The particular case in point emphasises the rising pattern of content creators being victimised by AI technology to spread misleading content.

Cybersecurity experts warn that the '6-minute MMS viral video' rumour is being used as clickbait for digital scams. Many of those links offering the complete video are actually phishing traps that try to hack into your device and extract sensitive data.
These links might result in drive-by downloads when clicked. These downloads may lead to the installation of harmful malware. This software might record keystrokes without knowledge, access banking applications, and even allow hackers to control the camera and mic of a smartphone remotely.
Keyword search and sharing, or even sharing the material, may be considered a crime in addition to the risk of hacking. Under the Pakistan PECA (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) and the Indian IT Act, the offence of distributing and accessing non-consensual sexual content is an offence that is punishable by heavy fines and imprisonment.
