Another landmark has been crossed by Sunny Deol's ‘Border 2’ with the film now officially being part of the 200 crore club at the Indian box office, settling in among the biggest war blockbusters ever produced in recent history. After a phenomenal opening weekend that was helped by the republic day holiday, the film had fantastic jumps on Saturday and Sunday before experiencing a typical weekday decline.
The film, directed by Anurag Singh, has been helped by patriotic themes, an enormous mass following and of course the star power of Sunny Deol, with the film able to maintain momentum in the second and third days even after the opening weekend had settled.

On Day 7 (Thursday), ‘Border 2’ earned and collected in India. While the collections are relatively tiny, it needs to be remembered that these are early estimates based on limited data collected from advance 2 reports. As per Sacnilk, the collection report will be updated as more shows are reported by the cinemas. Up until Day 7, the film has accumulated a total of 213.25 crore of India net collections.
The next moment of significance was on Day 6 (Wednesday), when the film officially crossed 200 crore. The film earned an estimated 13 crore while doing so, nudging its total well past the landmark figure in the process. Considering that the film had a significant fall in collections post republic day, this figure is all the more impressive.

The film had gained the greatest momentum on Sunday, Day 3 of release when its collections went up by 54.5 crore, a huge jump of nearly 50% from the previous day. Its momentum built on the long weekend and patriotic sentiment.
Collections had fallen sharply on the following day, Tuesday, to around 20 crore, a precipitous 66.27% slide from Monday.
In doing so, the film now also overtakes the debut weekend collections of Hrithik Roshan's ‘War 2’, placing the film among the top performing action films of recent years.

Along with Sunny Deol, who is reprising his role as the titular hero, the film features a number of other known actors including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is a sequel to the renowned 1997 war-themed film Border helmed by JP Dutta and has been produced by Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar.
