Sunny Deol’s much-awaited war film ‘Border 2’ is turning out to be a force to be reckoned with at the box office. With the patriotic fervor and the Republic Day weekend release, the film has seen a tremendous number of footfalls across the nation. According to Sacnilk, ‘Border 2’ has collected ₹177.41 crore nett in India in just five days, which puts it firmly on the path to achieving the much-coveted ₹200 crore mark.
On Day 5 (Tuesday), Border 2 contributed around ₹0.41 crore nett to the total, taking the five-day nett collection in India to ₹177.41 crore, as per the live tracking on Sacnilk. Though there is a natural dip in the collections on a weekday after an extraordinary holiday weekend, the overall trend is quite positive.

The movie has greatly benefited from the Republic Day weekend, with Sunday and Monday showing exceptionally high numbers.
On the international front, ‘Border 2’ has also shown equally impressive numbers. The movie has crossed the ₹200 crore mark in just four days, which is a testament to its popularity in foreign markets.
‘Border 2’ has also been able to moderate the box office growth of ‘Dhurandhar’, which is still the number one Indian movie at the domestic box office. ‘Dhurandhar’ had collected ₹126.25 crore in its first four days in India. In comparison, ‘Border 2’ has moved ahead considerably, thanks to its longer opening weekend and the patriotic theme.
‘Border 2’ has tapped into the nostalgia of JP Dutta’s Border, which has been a cultural phenomenon for nearly thirty years, while also attracting a whole new set of fans. The presence of Sunny Deol on screen, along with the war emotions and nationalistic undertones of the film, has struck a chord with audiences across all age groups.
