The Republic Day box office battle is on, and ‘Border 2’ is already leading the charge with vigour and confidence. The nationalistic war film, starring Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, has started off with some excellent advance booking figures on the very first day.
As a spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’, the film is getting mileage out of its nostalgic value and Republic Day release.
As per Sacnilk, ‘Border 2’ recorded an advance booking gross of 5.86 crore rupees in India at the end of Day 1 without including the block seats. If we consider the block seats as well, the total advance booking amount rises to an astonishing 10.21 crore rupees, which is one of the highest in the year to date.
The film has sold approximately 1.82 lakhs of tickets in close to 13,800 shows, and the main contributor to the earnings is the 2D Hindi version.

Delhi stands out as the strongest market up until now. As per data given by Sacnilk, the region has shown early bookings of ₹1.46 crore (including block seats of ₹2.22 crore) with a staggering 1,700+ shows available.
Maharashtra is another major state that has sold advance tickets worth ₹77.31 lakh, which jumps to ₹1.5 crore with the inclusion of the blockbuster seats. With over 2,300 shows, a late rush is expected in this state as well, especially in Mumbai and Pune.
On the other hand, Gujarat has reported ₹33.63 lakh (₹75.27 lakh including block seats).
'Border 2' also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, Anya Singh, and Paramvir Cheema. The movie, directed by Anurag Singh.
