We all have our own unique ways of sleeping depending on our habits and arrangements. There are some who sleep on the stomach, while many others prefer to sleep on their backs, on the left side, or to the right etc.
If you want to benefit from a good night's sleep, it is necessary to sleep in a comfortable position that aids your sleep cycles and also keeps the body in a relaxed state. As these are not subjects that we are trained in, a majority of people may suffer from inadequate sleep or disturbed sleep due to this lack of knowledge.
There are simple yoga techniques like mudras, pranayama and yogic postures that can help to correct any improper sleeping position for a more restful night of sleep. The following techniques suggested by Himalayan Siddha, Grand Master Akshar can help you enjoy better quality of sleep.
You can practice this early in the morning and once before you sleep. Lie down on your back. Stretch out your arms. Keep your palms facing up. Inhale deeply and fill your lungs with air. While exhaling, make a humming noise with your throat like the sound of a buzzing bee. This is also known as Bee Breath.

Himalayan Siddha, Grand Master Akshar says, “It is considered scientifically better to sleep on the left side and to wake up from the right. Include these easy but useful postures such as vajrasana, along with meditation techniques like Seed Meditation/Aarambh Dhyan and Brahmari Pranayama on a regular basis. You can perform these practices as a nightly routine to enhance your sleep quality and wake up feeling refreshed and energized.”
