Dark chocolate is packed with nutrients that have a positive impact on health. It contains significant amounts of soluble fibre and is packed with essential minerals such as iron, magnesium, copper, and manganese. A 100-gram bar of dark chocolate with 70-85% cocoa contains 11 grams of fibre, 67% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for iron, 58% of the RDA for magnesium, 89% of the RDA for copper and 98% of the RDA for manganese. Additionally, it contains potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium.
Rich In Powerful Antioxidants
Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, including flavonoids, polyphenols, and catechins. These antioxidants help neutralise free radicals, which can damage cells and contribute to inflammation and ageing. The high levels of antioxidants in dark chocolate can support overall health and protect against various diseases.

Supports Heart Health
Dark chocolate is good for heart health as well. Research suggests that the flavonoids present in dark chocolate can improve blood flow and lower blood pressure. Additionally, consuming dark chocolate can reduce the risk of heart disease by improving the function of the endothelium (the lining of the arteries) and increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels while lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol.
