A court in Punjab's Ludhiana has issued an arrest warrant against Bollywood actor Sonu Sood in connection with an alleged ₹10 lakh fraud case. The warrant was issued by Ludhiana judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur following a complaint by lawyer Rajesh Khanna, who claims he lost a significant sum after investing in a fake Rijika coin. Here’s everything you need to know about the case and why an arrest warrant has been issued against Sonu Sood.

Sonu Sood’s Issued Arrest Warrant in ₹10 Lakh Fraud Case

A Ludhiana court has issued an arrest warrant for Bollywood actor Sonu Sood after he repeatedly failed to appear for testimony in a ₹10 lakh fraud case. The case, filed by lawyer Rajesh Khanna, alleges that Mohit Shukla defrauded him by persuading him to invest in a fake ‘Rijika coin’ scheme.

Despite multiple summons, Sood did not attend, leading the court to direct Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai to execute his arrest. The next hearing is scheduled for February 10, increasing pressure on the case’s progress.

The fraud case stems from Khanna’s claim that Shukla orchestrated a scheme promising high returns on investment through the fake ‘Rijika coin.’ After investing ₹10 lakh, Khanna realised he had been deceived. While Sood’s exact connection to the case remains unclear, he was called as a witness due to his potential knowledge of the individuals involved or the circumstances of the fraud.

His repeated absence has stalled the investigation, prompting the court to escalate the matter. The case has garnered significant attention in both Ludhiana, where the fraud allegedly took place, and Mumbai, where Sood resides.
