The Canadian rap superstar Drake put himself in a not-so-ideal situation recently. Severe weather conditions caused his opulent Toronto mansion, known locally as 'The Embassy,' to get submerged in water. Drake, who is a times witty, shared a video of the situation on his Instagram Stories and gave his followers a very rare look at his personal life in a less-than-perfect moment.

In a video posted by Drake, viewers are shown an unidentified individual, dressed in all black, battling to close a set of French doors as muddy floodwaters rush into the room. The optimistic rapper that he is, Drake captioned the clip with much humour, writing, "This better be Espresso Martini," suggesting he'd prefer his indoor pool to be filled with something a little more enjoyable.
The camera, with only the sound of rushing water, pans down to his feet, submerged up to his mid-calves. In a very valiant attempt at managing the situation, the artist is holding a broom, presumably trying to redirect water flow.
Although Drake did not geotag his whereabouts in the video, it is very well known that his hometown, Toronto, has been facing rough weather conditions with a lot of flooding. Environment Canada, the independent weather agency of Canada earlier cancelled its heavy rainfall warning for Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. This came after the flooding had already hit in hard in the city's subway system earlier in the week.

The Toronto Star reported the weather agency's cautionary statement, "Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts." The newspaper also reported that although the rain could continue into a second day, most of the nasty weather was expected to pass by the weekend.
'The Embassy': Drake's Architectural Marvel
Drake's flooded mansion, known as 'The Embassy,' is not an average house. Back in 2020, the rapper provided a tour around his estate in Toronto to Architectural Digest. Speaking on his ambitious project, Drake shared his vision: "Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel. It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong."
What Drake said about the durability of the mansion has a huge irony written on it, as it recently flooded. His sense of humour seems to be still intact, though, despite some of life's unexpected challenges.
