The busted operation had an international drug nexus. Two of the foreigners holding Nigerian passports staying in Bangkok and Pattaya have been arrested: 31-year-old holder of Nigerian passport Onuoha Blessing, alias Joana Gomes, staying in Bangalore; and 29-year-old Azeez Noheem Adeshola, from Lagos, Nigerian state, Nigeria.
The arrested persons have been identified as three Indian nationals - Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham from Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, aged 31 years; Sanaboina Varun Kumar from Amalapuram, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, aged 42 years; and Mohd. Mahaboob Share.
The inquiry further revealed a well-organised setup headed by one Divine Ebuka Suzee, who is suspected to be the kingpin and might have escaped to Nigeria. Suzee ran a large drug syndicate with the help of arrested narcotics dealers. His close associate was Onuoha Blessing, who used to shuttle between Delhi and Hyderabad to supply drugs to various parts of the country.
Officials revealed that being a Nigerian by birth, Blessing got hold of a passport from the Republic of Guinea-Bissau with the assumed identity of Joana Gomes. "She came to India in 2018 for the drug trade," said the officers. "She used a fake passport to avoid legal issues and escape back to her country as needed, and she employed international SIM cards for communication."

But two Nigerians are reportedly on the run and still being hunted by the police — Divine Ebuka Suzee who is 35 years old, alias Ebuka, Emmanuel, or Level; and Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna who is 22 years old and goes by the alias Kaleshi. Both are wanted in this case.
According to officials, "two passports, two motorcycles, ten mobile phones and other incriminating material" were recovered from their possession.
This case came into the national limelight with the arrest of Aman Preet Singh, brother of Rakul Preet Singh. In a related development, it is pertinent to clarify that the actress herself is not named in the investigation; the incident, however, throws up serious questions about the use and possible trade of drugs in celebrity circles.
