A few months ago, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) rolled out SwaRail, a comprehensive new railway app created by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). Promoted as a ‘SuperApp,’ SwaRail brings together almost all IRCTC services into one streamlined, modern platform, marking a significant improvement over the older IRCTC Rail Connect app.
Available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the app is currently in beta testing. Users can sign in using their existing Rail Connect credentials or register for a new account.

How to Use the SwaRail App
Step 1: Download the SwaRail app from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
Step 2: Open the app after installation.
Step 3: If you're an existing user of IRCTC Rail Connect or UTS, log in using your current credentials.
Step 4: If you're a new user, tap on 'Register' and follow the on-screen prompts to create a new account. Only basic information is required.

Step 5: Once logged in, explore the app to:
Unlike many older railway apps that often feel outdated or glitchy, SwaRail offers a sleek, user-friendly interface that provides easy access to services without the need for excessive clicks.
Moreover, just like modern banking apps, SwaRail supports biometric login options, you can use Face ID on iPhones or your fingerprint sensor on Android devices for quick and secure access, all with a single tap.
Gone are the days of switching between multiple apps or getting lost in clunky menus. For frequent travellers, the app includes a 'My Bookings' section, where you can easily view and manage all your past and upcoming train reservations in one place.
