The much-awaited National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has rolled out full commercial operations of the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat Metro, connecting Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh. This high-speed corridor marks India’s first fully operational Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), designed to drastically cut travel time between Delhi and Meerut.

Spanning around 82 kilometres, the train completes the journey in under an hour, making it a practical option for daily commuters, office-goers, and business travellers. With modern coaches, airport-style stations and improved last-mile connectivity, the Namo Bharat Metro aims to transform regional travel across the National Capital Region.

Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Metro Ticket Price

The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Metro follows a distance-based fare structure, making it affordable for both short and long journeys.

  • Standard class fares begin at approximately ₹20.
  • For longer distances, fares can go up to around ₹150.

The pricing model has been designed to benefit regular commuters. One of the biggest advantages is the integrated ticket system, which allows passengers to switch between Namo Bharat services and the Meerut Metro city section using a single ticket.

The corridor connects key urban clusters across Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. The route includes a mix of elevated and underground stations, particularly in the Meerut section.

  • The Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat Metro operates daily from 6 am to 10 pm.
  • Trains run at an average frequency of around 10 minutes.
  • Stations are spaced roughly 5 to 10 kilometres apart.
  • The train has been designed for a top speed of 180 kmph.
  • Its maximum operational speed is 160 kmph.

This high-speed design significantly reduces travel time compared to road transport.

How To Book Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Metro Ticket

Passengers can book tickets both online and offline, offering flexibility for all types of commuters.

Online Booking

  • Namo Bharat Connect (RRTS Connect) App: The official mobile app allows users to generate digital QR tickets. Its ‘One-Tap’ feature creates a QR code when you are within 300 metres of a station.
  • Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Sarthi App: Tickets can also be booked via the Delhi Metro’s official app.
  • Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Rail Connect App: Travellers arriving in Delhi by train can book their onward Namo Bharat journey directly through the IRCTC app.
  • Digital wallets such as Paytm, PhonePe and Amazon Pay also offer QR ticket booking under their metro or transit sections.

Offline Booking

  • Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs): Available at all stations. You can pay using UPI, debit/credit cards or cash and receive a paper QR ticket.
  • Ticket Counters: Manual ticket purchase is available at customer care counters through cash or digital payment methods.

Smart Cards and Contactless Travel

  • National Common Mobility Card (NCMC): Any RuPay-enabled NCMC card can be tapped at entry and exit gates for automatic fare deduction.
  • RRTS Smart Cards are also available at station counters and can be recharged for regular use.
