15-year-old Shafali Verma is making headlines for all right reasons. This young girl recently became the youngest Indian to score a half-century in international cricket. With this historic win, Shafali broke her idol Sachin Tendulkar's record.
Sachin Tendulkar made this record when he was 16. He made his first half-century against his first test match against Pakistan.
Shafali who opens for India scored 73 runs in 49 balls with her stellar performance. Not only did she break Sachin's record but she also broke Rohit Sharma's record by becoming the youngest Indian to score a 50 in T20.
This is not the first time Shafali has made history. Earlier this year, she became the youngest women cricketer to debut for India.
BCCI tweeted her big win. The tweet read, "The explosive 15-year-old Shafali Verma scored her maiden half-century in the first T20I against West Indies Women today in St Lucia. Shafali is the youngest Indian ever to score an int'l fifty👏🏾👏🏾 #TeamIndia."
