Shafali Verma Educational Qualifications

Shafali’s journey has been one of immense sacrifice, where formal education has had to take a backseat in order to accommodate her hectic training schedule. She has completed her primary and secondary education from Mandeep Senior Secondary School in Rohtak, Haryana. Despite her hectic international schedule, she has managed to pass her Class 12 board exams from the CBSE board. It is reported that she is currently pursuing her graduation through correspondence.

Shafali Verma Career

She debuted in T20Is in 2019, when she was just 15 years old. Soon after, she shattered Sachin Tendulkar’s 30-year-old record to become the youngest Indian to score an international half-century. She topped the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings at the age of 16, becoming the youngest person to ever do so. One of her most cherished moments was in 2023, when she led India to win the first-ever ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. A star player for the Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), she is still one of the most destructive openers in the franchise format.

Shafali Verma Net Worth

She has a Grade A contract with the BCCI, where she receives an annual retainer fee of ₹50 Lakh. She was retained/signed by the Delhi Capitals for an astonishing amount of ₹2 Crore per year. Shafali is the brand ambassador for many big brands such as Nike, Pepsi, Hyundai, and Bank of Baroda, which adds a substantial amount to her income.

Shafali Verma Family Background

Her father, Sanjeev Verma, who owns a jewellery shop, was her first coach. Notably, when Shafali was a child, her father cut her hair short so that she could disguise herself as a boy to play in local academies, which did not allow girls to play. She has an elder brother named Sahil Verma, who is also a cricket player, and a younger sister named Nancy Verma, who has shown interest in following her sister’s footsteps. Despite being a global sensation, she is still very much rooted in Rohtak, Haryana, where her family lives.
