For a few days, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik have been in the news because of the rumours that they are splitting. A report in Zee News Hindi says one of their close friends has confirmed the news of the couple heading for divorce.

The close friend has shared that the couple had already decided to part ways after being together for more than a decade. They are separated and only paperwork formalities are remaining. Many reports have speculated that Malik was found cheating on Mirza.

According to InsideSport, another source has confirmed the split of Mirza and Malik. A team member of Malik’s management department has said that the couple is officially getting divorced. “I can’t disclose more than that but can confirm that they have separated.”

Mirza is living in Dubai with her son, while Malik is in Pakistan working as an expert during the T20 World Cup. Their team has made it to the finals and will be competing with England for the trophy.

A few days back, India’s stellar tennis player shared a post on Instagram with her son. People are calling its caption a cryptic note hinting at her separation from Malik. It read, “The moments that get me through the hardest days.”

Mirza and Malik first met in Hobart, Australia. It was the cricketer who arranged the meeting, and from there, the two sportspersons grew closer. Their bond became more than friendship, and they fell in love (love story beyond borders).

Mirza had published an autobiography Ace Against Odds in which she mentioned that she met the love of her life when both of them were struggling to hold their ground professionally. Malik was then serving a year-long ban, and the tennis player was undergoing a dry spell on the tennis court.

However, against all odds, the two got married in India in 2010. When Malik arrived in the country, it was alleged that he was already married to another woman living in Hyderabad. She even filed a case against the cricketer for cheating on her.

After their marriage, trolls never left the couple alone. It is known to the entire world that India and Pakistan do not share a healthy relationship despite sharing borders due to their historic conflict.

Much like now, faceless trolls targeted Mirza as well as Malik. However, it was much worse for Mirza. The couple decided to amicably live in Dubai. In 2018, they welcomed their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik.

With the news of divorce, trolls from India and Pakistan are once again targeting Sania Mirza, commenting on her body and questioning her decision to marry the cricketer in the first place. If they can’t find a fault, they find it easy to question her integrity or pass cheap comments about her body.
