According to the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, “The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), a Central Sector Scheme, aims at providing financial assistance to all cultivable land holding farmer families across the country, subject to certain exclusion criteria. Under the Scheme, an amount of Rs. 6000/- is transferred annually in three equal installments of Rs.2000/- directly into the Aadhaar Seeded bank accounts of the farmers.”
It further states that “A farmer-centric digital infrastructure has ensured the benefits of the scheme reach all the farmers across the country without any involvement of the middlemen, maintaining absolute transparency in registering and verifying beneficiaries. The Government of India has disbursed over Rs 2.60 Lakhs Crores to more than 11 Cr farmers.”

During the event over 9.4 crore farmers across the country received direct financial benefits, amounting to more than ₹20,000 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) without the involvement of any middlemen. With the 18th installment release, the total disbursement under the scheme will exceed ₹3.45 lakh crore, supporting more than 11 crore farmers nationwide and further reaffirming the government's commitment to rural development and agricultural prosperity.”

Here’s how to apply for PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana:
1. Go to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana website athttps://pmkisan.gov.in/ orhttps://www.pmkisanstatus.com/pm-kisan-registration/
2. Once the site loads, you will see the homepage.
3. Look for the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option in the Farmer Corner section and click on it.
4. A new page will appear where you need to enter your name, mobile number, and state. Make sure to provide accurate information.
5. Fill in the captcha code displayed below and click on the ‘Send OTP’ option.
6. You will receive an OTP on the mobile number you provided. Enter this OTP in the required field and click ‘Submit’.
7. You will be prompted to confirm if you want to register. Click ‘Yes’ to proceed.
8. A registration form will open where you need to fill in the required details.
9. Upload scanned copies of necessary documents, such as your land records, Aadhaar card, and bank passbook.
10. Click on the ‘Submit’ option to complete your registration.
11. Upon submission, you will successfully register for the scheme and be provided with a Farmer ID.
12. Your details will be reviewed by the local agriculture department.
