The government of India offers an internship scheme for female students, social activists, scholars and teachers from non-tier-I cities and rural parts of the country.
To build a self-reliant India, PM Modi-led administration has introduced a slew of schemes for the youth. All these programmes have positively impacted the youth on different fronts. PM Modi announced an internship programme back in 2015 that turned out to be immensely successful.

Scope Of Learning With The Internship Scheme
The scheme aims to direct students, social activists, and scholars among others. With this programme, interns are required to take up pilot projects and micro-studies on different ongoing activities of the ministry. The programme gives exposure to interns and helps them raise issues concerning women and children in the country on different platforms. The internship provides the interns with a common platform for meaningful interactions, and research space related to other government schemes and initiatives. The programme also bridges the information gaps around issues related to women and children in the country from non-tier parts.
Benefits Of Internship Programme
- Every intern who gets selected for the scheme is paid a lump sum stipend of ₹20,000 per month. The travel cost (deluxe bus/3 tier AC train) is reimbursed too. Their return home is paid too.
- On the completion of the programme, interns are awarded with a certificate.
- Interns are provided with a hostel facility on a sharing basis (3 interns per room) for the entire duration of the programme.
- Interns are offered required logistic support like internet facility, stationery goods and seating arrangement.
- The interns report to an internship coordinator who is responsible for their entire programme including internship exercise, networking, and communication with other stakeholders among others.
