As the festive season approaches, Southern Railway has stepped up to meet the increased travel demand by announcing special trains for Onam. These trains aim to ease the rush of passengers during this popular Kerala festival. Here's everything you need to know about the newly announced services, including schedules, routes, and booking information.

Ernakulam Jn - Yelahanka Jn GaribrathTrain Timings

The Southern Railway has introduced a new service connecting Ernakulam Junction and Yelahanka Junction. This Garibrath Superfast TriWeekly Special Express (train numbers 06101/06102) will operate on specific dates to accommodate the Onam rush.

The train will depart from Ernakulam Junction at 12:40 PM on September 4, 2024, and 6, 2024, reaching Yelahanka Junction at 11:00 PM on the same day. Here's a detailed schedule of arrival times at key stations:

• Ernakulam Jn: 12:40 PM (Departure)
• Thrissur: 1:53 PM
• Palakkad: 3:15 PM
• Podanur: 4:13 PM
• Tirupur: 4:58 PM
• Erode: 5:45 PM

• Whitefield: 9:21 PM
• Krisharajapuram: 9:31 PM
• Yelahanka Jn: 11:00 PM (Arrival)

For the return trip, the train will leave Yelahanka Junction at 5:00 AM on September 5, 2024, and 7, 2024, arriving at Ernakulam Junction at 2:20 PM on the same day. The schedule is as follows:

• Krishnarajapuram: 5:20 AM
• Whitefield: 5:31 AM
• Salem: 8:58 AM
• Erode: 9:50 AM
• Tirupur: 10:33 AM
• Podanur: 11:15 AM
• Palakkad: 12:08 PM
• Thrissur: 1:18 PM
• Ernakulam Jn: 2:20 PM (Arrival)

The train will consist of two AC two-tier coaches, nine AC three-tier coaches, and two power car cum brake vans. Reservations for this special service have already begun, allowing passengers to secure their seats early.

• Tambaram - Kochuveli Weekly Special (No. 06035)
• Departs Tambaram at 7:30 PM on September 6, 13, and 20
• Arrives at Kochuveli at 11:30 AM the next day

• Kochuveli - Tambaram Weekly Special (No. 06036)
• Leaves Kochuveli at 3:35 PM on September 7, 14, and 21
• Reaches Tambaram at 7:35 AM the following day

• Tambaram - Kochuveli Weekly Special (No. 06153)
• Departs Tambaram at 9:40 PM on September 8, 15, and 22
• Arrives at Kochuveli at 1:40 PM the next day

• Kochuveli - Tambaram Weekly Special (No. 06154)
• Leaves Kochuveli at 3:35 PM on September 9, 16, and 23
• Reaches Tambaram at 7:35 AM the following day

These additional services will feature 14 AC three-tier economy coaches and two luggage cum brake vans.
