The atmosphere was electric as Sen locked horns with Chinese Taipei's 12th seed Chou Tien Chen. In a see-saw battle that had both sides gasping, the Indian clawed back from a first-game setback to clinch the contest with scores of 19-21, 21-15, 21-12. That victory not only confirmed his place in the last four but also put him in the elite list of Indian badminton legends which Parupalli Kashyap and Kidambi Srikanth are a part of.

Born into a Bengali family in Almora, Uttarakhand, on August 16, 2001, Lakshya Sen's destiny seemed intertwined with badminton from the start. His grandfather, C L Sen, was a national-level player, while his father, D K Sen, coached the sport. Even his brother, Chirag Sen, has made waves in international badminton circuits.
At the tender age of four, young Lakshya was already a familiar face at the local badminton stadium, tagging along with his father. His passion for the sport became evident in 2010 when he convinced his father to let him compete alongside his elder brother in a national tournament. This decision would change the course of his life.
