The series of events taking place across the nation have shocked us all to the core. Protests have broken out in 9 states of the country against the newly amended Citizenship Act. There are hundreds and thousands of students who are expressing their opposition to the government's new citizenship law.
Citizenship Amendment Bill
According to the bill, religious minorities, including Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians, from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who arrived before 2015 will get fast-track citizenship.
Muslims won't be allowed citizenship in India. This is because according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they are not minorities in India's neighboring countries.
Protesters claim that with this new bill, the government is keeping the Muslim community outside and trying to divide the secular nation.
People are fighting all across the nation for their right to religious equality at the moment and seeing the current scenario, women are at the forefront, raising their voice against injustice.
A picture of a Jamia student, who stood up to the police while they were beating a male protester is going viral over the net. The girl is Aysha Renna and she is winning hearts, inspiring everyone to raise their voice against the injustice happening around.
