ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 will be launched at 2:35 pm on Friday July 14, 2023 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The mission's objective is to explore the south pole of the moon.
ISRO Chairman, K Sivan in his official statement said, “The descent of Vikram was going on as per plan, and normal performance was observed up to an altitude of at 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from the lander to the ground station was lost. Data being analysed.”
Just like us, all the scientists at the ISRO are feeling lost after losing contact with the lander. Prime Minister Modi at the ISRO headquarters today morning went on to motivate all with his speech.
During his speech, he acknowledged all the hard work put in by ISRO scientists. He said, "You people live and work for nation's progress. You live for India's honour, I salute you."
"The whole country was awake to witness the event and to encourage you all who had worked on this most ambitious mission of space. You all have contributed insignificantly for nation's progress. India is with you," Modi said.
Though the mission didn't see success but we are never losing hope. We hope PM Modi's motivational speech works for all the scientists who worked on this project during this difficult phase.
Another big thing about this mission is that two women played a key role behind this lunar mission. Muthayya Vanitha, Project Director. Shw won the best woman scientist award in the year 2006. She was the woman responsible for the entire project.
The other woman is Ritu Karidhal, Mission Director, who is also known as the Rocket Woman Of India. She was also the Deputy Operations Director on India's Mars Mission. She had the same post while working for India's Moon Mission. Both the women have led a lot of satellite launches. It was the first time in the history that both the heads of the mission are women.

It is a moment to be proud of. One of India's biggest mission headed by two women. Though we didn't see the success of this mission, we feel this failure will become the foundation of new beginnings. Kudos to all the scientists and ISRO!
