The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday announced that the Delhi Metro will remain operational on the occasion of Holi, which falls on March 25, 2024. However, the DMRC stated that metro services will be suspended until 2:30 PM on that day and will only resume after the specified time.

On the day of the ‘Holi festival, i.e. 25th March, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will NOT be available till 2:30 PM on all Lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line.
DMRC stated, "On the occasion of Holi festival, i.e., March 25, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will NOT be available until 2:30 PM on all Lines of the Delhi Metro, including Rapid Metro Airport Express Line."
The good news for afternoon travellers is that metro train services will resume at 2:30 PM from terminal stations on all lines. DMRC assures commuters that services will then continue as normal for the rest of the day.
Metro train services will thus start at 2:30 PM from terminal stations on all Lines on 25th March and will continue normally thereafter.

It extends beyond the Delhi city limits, serving areas like Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, and Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh, and Ballabhgarh in Haryana.

On regular days, the Delhi Metro generally operates from approximately 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with slight variations depending on the specific line and station.
In addition to the Delhi Metro's modified schedule, travellers can also take advantage of the additional train services announced by the Indian Railways. To cater to the increased passenger demand during the Holi season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 540 special trains.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Railways, 540 additional trains have been scheduled to connect major destinations across the country on railway routes such as Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, Guwahati-Ranchi, New Delhi-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus, Pune-Danapur, Durg-Patna, Barauni-Surat, among others.

As per the statement, various railway zones including Central Railway, East Central Railway, Eastern Railway, Eastern Coastal Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, North Frontier Railway, Northern Railway, North Western Railway, South Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, South East Central Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway, West Central Railway, and Western Railway will operate the additional train services.
