India’s vibrant festival of Holi is on the horizon, set to be celebrated on March 25 this year. In anticipation of the festivities, the North Division of Indian Railways has announced plans to operate over 15 additional trains. These special trains aim to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the Holi season.
Detailed schedules, fares, and routes for these special services have been released by Indian Railways, ensuring convenient travel options for passengers across various destinations.

Central Railway has announced plans to operate a total of 112 Holi special train services catering to passengers' rush during the festive season. The list of trains includes LTT Mumbai-Prayagraj Weekly Superfast AC Specials (8 services), LTT Mumbai-Banaras Weekly Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Thivim Weekly AC Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Danapur Bi-Weekly Superfast Specials (6 services), and LTT Mumbai-Samastipur Weekly Superfast Specials (4 services).
Holi 2024: Complete list Of Special Trains
From Delhi, six special trains are scheduled to depart, connecting cities like Katra, Varanasi, and Saharanpur to different destinations. Additionally, several trains will run to Ambala from Saharsa, as well as from cities such as Gaya and Patna to Anand Vihar in Delhi (From Music To Food: Dive Into The Delhi NCR’s Cultural Festivals).
These special trains are strategically routed to pass through key locations such as Dhanbad and Jharkhand, making stops at three destinations in Bihar.
Specifically, train 04034 will operate from New Delhi to Udhampur on March 22 and 29, with its return journey scheduled on March 23 and 30. This service will make stops at various stations including Sonipat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Ludhiana Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Ambala Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.
Additionally, a special train bound for Vaishno Devi from New Delhi will run twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, with its return journey scheduled from March 25 to April 1, operating on Thursdays and Mondays. Other routes include trains from Delhi to Varanasi, with return services running three days a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Special trains will also operate between Katra and Varanasi, running once a week from Katra to Varanasi on Sundays and returning to Katra from Varanasi on Tuesdays. Furthermore, a special train from Howrah to Banaras will run on March 23, making stops at Patna, Arrah, Buxar, Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Durgapur, Asansol, Bakhtiyarpur, and Varanasi.
