The much-awaited fantasy drama Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna, and Amitabh Bachchan was released on September 9, 2022. While many people praised the movie for its use of amazing VFX, as soon as it hit theatres, people also began pointing out flaws and offering feedback. One of the most criticised things about the film, according to viewers, is how Bhatt’s character Isha repeatedly keeps calling Kapoor’s character Shiva by his name throughout the film. This also led to several memes on social media that are amusing netizens.

One such video shared by mimicry artist Chandni is one of the most viral memes currently. Alia Bhatt also found the video hilarious. You can see the video:

In a conversation with NDTV, she said “That's one of my favourites. There is this one girl who imitates me, Chandni, she imitates me really well. She made an Alia Bramāstra meme where she is talking about my voice and she is outstanding. (sic)”

The Reason Explained

The Brahmāstra maker Ayan Mukerji ended up explaining the reason behind this. He said, “People are making fun of it. I think when I talk, I keep taking people's names a lot, this is my habit. So that stayed in the script and came in the film as well,Hindustan Times reported.

Ranbir-Alia Not Like That In Real Life

Ranbir Kapoor said that they were also in confusion about taking each other's names continuously. He said, “We want to tell the audience that Alia and I would always ask Ayan that ‘yaar, her name is Isha, my name is Shiva, do we have to keep saying it?’ But Ayan was very particular that when someone is in love, they have to enjoy saying the name of the person they love. And I think that makes sense.”

He also clarified that they are not like this in their real life and they get worried when the other person calls them by their name.
