Industry analysts believe the iPhone 17 Air could potentially replace the Plus variant in Apple's smartphone lineup, offering consumers a premium alternative that prioritises portability without sacrificing screen size.

According to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple is anticipated to increase prices across the iPhone 17 series. While rising import tariffs may contribute to these adjustments, Apple reportedly cites major design upgrades and innovative features as the primary justification for higher costs.

"The ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air appears to be a central component of Apple's strategy to support new premium pricing," notes the report, indicating that the company believes consumers will pay more for truly innovative design changes.

The iPhone 17 series is projected to launch in India with starting prices around Rs 79,900. However, both standard and Pro variants could see price increases influenced by import duties implemented during Donald Trump's presidency. Additionally, ongoing geopolitical tensions between China and the United States may drive up manufacturing expenses, potentially impacting overall pricing.

The upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumoured to feature substantially upgraded camera systems. These flagship devices are expected to incorporate a trio of 48-megapixel sensors: a main camera, a fusion sensor, and an Ultra-Wide lens.
