The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be the centrepiece of Apple’s late-2026 lineup. While rumours suggest the standard iPhone 18 might be delayed until 2027, the Pro models are on track to debut a new era of mechanical hardware and 2nm silicon.
Following Apple’s traditional release cycle, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be announced in early September 2026.
Global Reveal: Likely between September 8 and September 15, 2026.
India Availability: Pre-orders typically begin a few days after the event, with in-store availability expected by late September 2026.
Staggered Strategy: Leaks suggest Apple will prioritise the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and the rumoured iPhone Fold for the 2026 fall window, pushing the base models to Spring 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro will debut the A20 Pro chip, a milestone in mobile processing.
2nm Architecture: This will be Apple's first chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process, offering up to 15% faster CPU speeds and a massive 30% improvement in power efficiency.
RAM Upgrade: To handle the growing demands of on-device Apple Intelligence (AI), the Pro models are expected to feature 12GB of RAM as standard.
Display: A 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 3,000+ nits peak brightness and a 35% smaller Dynamic Island (thanks to under-display Face ID components).
Connectivity: Introduction of Apple’s in-house C2 5G modem, designed for better battery savings and expanded satellite connectivity.

The 2026 camera system moves beyond software processing toward high-end mechanical innovation.
Variable Aperture: The 48MP main sensor is rumoured to feature a physical variable aperture (likely f/1.4 to f/2.8), allowing users to manually control light and depth of field, a first for iPhone.
Telephoto Improvements: An updated zoom lens with a larger aperture will significantly improve low-light performance and background separation.
24MP Selfie Camera: The front-facing camera is expected to jump from 12MP to 24MP, providing much sharper detail for creators and video calls.
While Apple aims to keep pricing steady, the shift to 2nm chips and increased RAM may lead to a slight adjustment.
Base Variant (256GB): Expected to start at approximately ₹1,34,900 to ₹1,39,900.
Higher Storage Tiers: With rumours of storage options up to 2TB, the top-tier models could exceed ₹1,70,000.
New Colours: Leaked palette includes a sophisticated Deep Red (Burgundy), Coffee Brown, and the return of Deep Purple.
