Akshay Kumar will soon make his Marathi film debut in Mahesh Manjrekar's upcoming film. In the film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, the actor would portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Vaseem Qureshi-produced movie will tell the story of seven brave warriors who dedicated their lives to realising what is popularly believed to be Shivaji Maharaj's vision of Swarajya.
On Tuesday, a mahurat shot event for the movie took place in Mumbai. The event was attended by the Honourable Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde and MNS leader Shri Raj Thackeray as special guests. The event was organised to share the first glimpse of Kumar as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
According to the media reports during the mahurat event, Kumar said that it's a dream come true role for me. I think portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen is a huge responsibility. I was taken aback when Raj sir asked me to portray this role. I feel so good to be playing this part and it's going to be a dream come true role for me. Also, I will be working for the first time with Director Mahesh Manjrekar, and it is going to be an experience.
