Akshay Kumar Named Highest Taxpayer Again; Receives Certificate From IT Department

Actor Akshay Kumar, who has been giving one hit after another for several years (barring his recent debacle), has also been the highest taxpayer in the entertainment world and has once again been termed the highest taxpayer in the entertainment industry by the tax department. For the same, he was awarded the ‘Samman Patra’ from the Income Tax department. A certificate for Akshay from the Income Tax Department has been making the rounds on social media, but the actor has not yet confirmed it.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Kumar has been among the highest taxpayers in the entertainment industry for five years now.

In 2017, according to reports, Akshay paid taxes worth Rs 29.5 crores. He has often been on Forbes magazine's list of the highest-paid celebrities, according to which in 2019, he earned $48.5 million.

Rajnikanth Received Award For Regularly Paying Tax

On Income Tax Day, 24 July 2022, south actor Rajinikanth was honoured by the Puducherry Governor Thamizhisai Soundarajan for paying his taxes regularly. The honorary award was received by Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth on his behalf. She shared the news on social media.

She captioned the picture, “Proud daughter of a high and prompt tax payer 😇🏅🌟 Many thanks to the #incometaxdepartment of Tamilnadu and Puducherry for honouring appa on #incometaxday2022 #onbehalfofmyfather”

Akshay Kumar Upcoming Projects

Kumar will be next seen in his film 'Raksha Bandhan', which is set to release on August 11, 2022. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar in a leading role. The film is directed by Aanand L Rai and produced by Colour Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, and Alka Hiranandani in association with Cape Of Good Films. It is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon.

Kumar will also be seen in the film 'Selfiee', which also stars actors Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuccha in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2023.

The upcoming film Selfiee is the Hindi remake of Malayalam film Driving License. Driving License starred Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead role.
