With the first two instalments, ‘Mardaani’ broke the myth that women only make comedy or romantic flicks, as a gritty female led cop movie, Rani Mukerji in the lead, was a huge success both critically and commercially. Unfortunately, however popular the franchise is, the latest instalment, ‘Mardaani 3’, has been sinking fast at the box office.

Released on January 30, 2026, ‘Mardaani 3’ is based on the situation of girl child trafficking. According to Sacnilk, the flick seemed to have marginal growth throughout the weekend but then the weekday numbers saw a sharp drop.
