Rani Mukerji made her comeback to the screens from the prison gates of ‘Mardaani 3’ on 30 January 2026, playing a hard-edged, badass cop, and the film aims to entertain loyal followers in the franchise. While some fans picked up on the film's opening, the box office score has remained fairly underwhelming. The crime drama faces tough competition from ‘Border 2’, and even though it hasn't achieved a Day 1 bonanza yet, it has managed to stay afloat under the circumstances.
According to Sacnilk figures, the film has collected close to 18 crore nett across India till now, and though the weekend saw an uplift, the turnaround has dropped back to weekday-like figures in the post-weekend period, which is common for movies in the middle-budget category.

On day 4 (Monday), the box office collections experienced a buzzkill as the weekday trend came into play. Early Sacnilk estimates suggest that the film managed to earn 0.12 crore nett in India. The drop was clearly enormous after the light weekend, but no one predicted anything different.
With a lack of screens and shows, the film has relied to a large extent on multiple call-outs and on fortifying its franchise-following element. The total India nett has reached around 17.62 crore so far in four days, inching towards a 20 crore collection mark.

The film opened at moderate capacity. On the day after the release, Friday, it opened at 4 crore nett. The second Saturday elevated the collection to 6.25 crore, ascending at a healthy month-on-month rate of 56.54%. The debut (31 Jan) saw the second-best opening for the Rani Mukerji franchise. Day 3 (Feb 1) saw the best jump, with collections rising to 7.25 crore. The total so far is 17.50 crore (Day 1 to 3 in total), before Monday caused a dip. Now, in the moving trend, the film has accumulated a total of 17.62 crore.
The film added approximately 16.6 crore in the territory on day 1 and day 2. The film earned close to 4.4 crore in international markets. On the third day, Sunday, the overall occupancy in India reached 33.29%. Evening shows registered the maximum attendance with 50% occupancy. Punjab and neighboring areas like Mumbai and Pune saw a similar situation, with rising audience numbers. However, Delhi NCR showed only mid-range attendance despite the maximum number of shows.
