PM Modi Flags Off Agra Metro Extension – Women Power In The Operations

The team of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation started operating the metro on the 6-kilometre-long metro track on Thursday morning. So far, more than two dozen passengers have travelled in six stations. With this launch, UP has become the state-operating metro in most cities in the country. Agra is the sixth city in the state and 21st in the country to have Metro in operation. However, the highlight was the 5 women who took charge of the operations. Metro Stations

Here are the stations that will be covered under the Agra Metro route: Taj East Gate near TDI Mall on Fatehabad Road, Captain Shubham Gupta station in front of Hotel Grand Mercure, Fatehabad Road station near Mughal Pulia, Taj Mahal underground station near Purani Mandi intersection, Agra Fort station in front of Agra Fort, Bijli Ghar bus stand, Manakameshwar station in front of the gate.

About Agra Metro

The primary aim of this project is to establish a seamless connectivity network linking key tourist attractions like Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and Sikandra to major transportation hubs such as bus terminals and railway stations. As per reports, the estimated cost of the project was Rs 8,379.6 crore.

Women In Operations

After the Agra (all about agra travels) Metro operations began, 5 women smartly dressed in black suits with sky blue shirts, ties and caps, took charge of four metro stations as station controllers cum train operators. Urvashi Singh from Mathura, Neha from Bihar, Shivani Kaushik from Delhi and Nidhi Singh from Varanasi are the women who fought battles and underwent several intense physical and psychological tests to get this job. These women have proved that they can shine and take charge in those sectors as well which are considered to be male dominating.
