Yesterday I went to Edesia, Crowne Plaza In Okhla for dinner and I was immediately greeted by incredible ambience, warm welcome and mouth-watering visuals of malwa cuisine, which I couldn't wait to get my hands on. As the chef gave me a tour of their global cuisine restaurant, I came across a variety of delectable dishes from across the Indian states. What really caught my attention was their unprecedented culinary extravaganza showcasing the exquisite flavours of Malwa Cuisine from Indore. I couldn't resist any longer and requested the chef to prepare a platter for me featuring all the authentic delicacies of the cuisine.

‘Indori Zayka Food Fest’: Menu

"Indori Zayka" – a celebration of flavours from the heart of Indore is Edesia’s initiative to bring the lip-smacking malwa cuisine to our plates. The food festival is in place from May 10th to 19th, 2024. It features signature dishes that exemplify the essence of Indore's gastronomy. I was served an assortment of mouth-watering delicacies, including the iconic Poha Jalebi, irresistible Indori Shikanji (sweet lassi), flavourful Khopra Patties, comforting Sabudana Khichdi, crispy Baked Samosa, wholesome Dal Bafla and savoury Moong Dal Bhajiya served with incredibly tasty ginger chutney.

To complement this gastronomic odyssey, a selection of refreshing beverages was offered, including the tangy Ananas ki Panna, the unique Anti Soda, the classic Lassi, and the refreshing Kairi Pana. Concluding the culinary journey on a sweet note, I launched myself onto the dessert section relishing creamy Shrikhand.

My Favourite

While almost everything was quite good, what actually tantalised my taste buds was Khopra Patties, baked samosa, samosa chaat and Moong Dal Bhajiya served with ginger chutney.

Crispy on the outside and flavourful on the inside, all 5 dishes are still on my mind as I pen it down. This ginger chutney overpowers all the chutneys I ever tasted and the fillings inside baked samosa and samosa chaat were the highlight.

Service And Ambience

service

The service was top-notch from the moment I entered to when I left. The staff was polite and showed a willingness to make my experience better.

The ambience of Edesia Crowne Plaza is everything. From the cosy sitting area to the pool and spa, everything caught my attention. Starting from November to March, the restaurant offers ‘Grill by the Pool’, which is a must-try.
