Weekends are for binge-watching your favourite movies and web series on OTT platforms and gorging on your favourite food. The only trick to having a chill weekend is picking an entertaining movie and the right food.
A few weeks back, I went to the DLF Mall of India with my sister. We were tired of shopping and hungry, so we decided to try K Se Kulcha at the food court where multiple other eateries sell their delicacies.
Since we wanted to try authentic North Indian cuisine with lip-smacking flavours, we unanimously agreed to try kulchas by K Se Kulcha. We have heard a bit about them from here and there. Here is my review.
Ambience
The food court in the mall is almost always bustling with people, which says a lot about its popularity from the renowned food joints. Amid Domino’s, Taco Bell, and others, you can easily spot the counter of K Se Kulcha.
There is a small glass cabinet displaying their specialities, and in the back, multiple hanging screens showcase the menu.
Once you have played a round of treasure hunt to secure a seat, you can head to the counter to place your order. You have to prepay for your meal and have to pick up your order once it gets ready. Though they do not have a quiet space like a restaurant, they make it up by delivering delicious food.

Food
We tried a couple of things from the menu. First, we ordered a plate of Amritsari Kulche & Chole (₹229) that came with cool raita topped with cumin powder. It has two delicious kulchas served with chole. The plate has a small space for a spicy green chutney. They also serve raw onion and some finely diced veggies as a salad along with pickles and dry potato sabji.
We also ordered a glass of Kullad Chanch (buttermilk) to go with it. It was topped with coriander leaves, which added a fresh touch to it and the flavours were also balanced. It was priced at ₹99.
The next order was a plate of Dal Makhni Kullad (₹199) with rice and Vegetable Biryani (₹269). Both earthen pots were of the same quantity. Dal Makhni was moderately spiced with balanced flavours.
For my sister and me, veg biryani was the star of the show because of the richness it had. Yellow and white rice were elegantly layered with colourful vegetables and marinated slices of paneer. Though we could not finish it all at once, we packed the leftovers, and devoured the food while watching our favourite series on Netflix.
If you are looking for a quiet space, this might not be your spot, and they are not on food delivery apps like Swiggy or Zomato. However, if you are shopping around the mall and craving for authentic North Indian delicacies, this might be a perfect place for you. Their menu is budget-friendly, which is a win-win factor.
