The menu at Darjeeling Steamers is a delightful surprise. While momos are undoubtedly the stars, the restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Starters like the Steamed Vegetable Spring Rolls (₹180) and Chilli Chicken (₹250) are perfect for sharing, while Thukpa, a comforting noodle soup with a choice of vegetables or chicken (₹220-₹280), is a great option for a light meal.
Butter Garlic Paneer Momos
Now, let's talk about the main event, the momos! I opted for the Butter Garlic Paneer Momos (₹220), and let me tell you, they were phenomenal. The aroma of fragrant garlic and butter instantly hit my senses. The first bite was an explosion of flavour. The soft, pillowy dough perfectly encased a filling bursting with the savoury goodness of paneer. Each bite was a delightful medley of textures, the slightly crumbly paneer, and the subtle crunch of garlic, fresh herbs. The light butter garlic sauce added a touch of richness without being overpowering, leaving a pleasant garlicky aftertaste.
These momos were so good, that I devoured them one after another, savouring each juicy morsel. The filling was perfectly seasoned, and the combination of flavours was simply divine. It's safe to say I cleaned my plate, not wanting a single bite to go to waste.

While the Butter Garlic Paneer Momos stole the show, I couldn't resist trying the Chicken Wai Wai (₹240) and Chicken Momos (₹220) as well. The Chicken Wai Wai offered a delightful textural contrast thanks to the inclusion of crunchy Wai Wai noodles in the filling, while the Chicken Momos were a classic done perfectly. Both were cooked to juicy perfection and packed a flavourful punch.

A Refreshing Finish: Ginger Lemon Honey Tea
To end my meal on a refreshing note, I sipped on the Ginger Lemon Honey Tea (₹120). This warm beverage was the perfect way to cleanse the palate and soothe my throat after a day of trekking. The subtle sweetness of honey balanced the zing of ginger and lemon beautifully, leaving me feeling revitalised.
For around ₹850, I enjoyed a satisfying and flavourful meal at Darjeeling Steamers. Considering the food quality, delicious butter garlic momos, and charming ambiance, it's money well spent.
