It provides the necessary energy and nutrients required during fasting. It is easy to prepare and is sure to be loved by everyone. Here's an easy recipe to prepare Singhare Ka Halwa for Chaitra Navratri:
How To Make Singhare Ka Halwa Recipe:
1. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan or kadhai over medium heat.
2. Once the ghee is hot, add singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour) to it.
3. Roast the flour in ghee on low to medium heat, stirring continuously to prevent burning. Roast until the flour turns golden brown and starts releasing a nutty aroma. This process may take around 10-12 minutes.
4. Now slowly add some water to avoid lumps and then add some sugar. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
6. Keep stirring the mixture until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan. This may take around 5-7 minutes.
7. Add a pinch of cardamom powder to enhance the flavour of the halwa. Mix well.
8. Turn off the heat and let the halwa sit for a couple of minutes.
9. Garnish the Singhare Ka Halwa with chopped nuts like cashews, almonds, and pistachios.
10. Serve the delicious Singhare Ka Halwa warm and enjoy it as a fasting delicacy during Chaitra Navratri.
Tips:
- Make sure to roast the singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour) properly to enhance its flavour.
- If the halwa becomes too thick, you can add a little more water to adjust the consistency.
- Garnishing with chopped nuts adds a crunchy texture and enriches the dish.
