Agnihotri, known for his impactful films like The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files, and The Vaccine War, emphasised the importance of the story behind The Delhi Files. In his announcement, he stated, “MARK YOUR CALENDAR: August 15, 2025. After years of exhaustive research, the story of The Delhi Files is too powerful to be contained in one part. We are excited to bring you The Bengal Chapter – the first of two parts, unveiling a significant chapter in our history.”

The announcement also revealed that The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter will face competition at the box office from Yash Raj Films' upcoming movie War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is part of a larger cinematic universe and is expected to draw significant attention.
