KGF star Yashrings on his birthday today! As he turns 39, the Kannada superstar treated his fans with a stylish first-look clip of his next film, Toxic. The project was announced way back in 2023, more than a year after his last blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 released. With a tentative release date in 2025, Toxic is a much-awaited film for Yash's fans since they will get to see their favourite actor on screen after a long three years. Directed and co-written by Geetu Mohandas, the film has Yash as a co-producer.
Toxic First-Look Out on Yash's Birthday
Titled Toxic: Birthday Peek, the first-look video dropped on Wednesday, just in time for Yash's birthday. Lasting 59 seconds, the clip starts with the frame showing a suave car halting in front of an upscale nightclub named Paraiiso (Paraíso in Spanish translates to "paradise"). As the door opens and Yash emerges from it to get inside, steamy shots from the nightclub interject the flow. At the 20-second mark, our hero lights up his cigar and enters the club. The music gains tempo and we soon see Yash, clad in a white suit and fedora, walk with a swag and ample attitude. Typical of the image suiting the character, we see him getting all lustful with a woman, pouring alcohol on her, and getting intimate.
Admittedly, the clip was intense, rightly establishing the commanding presence and stylish confidence of Yash's character. Even though the exact details are not out, Toxic has "a story that defies convention," as described by Mohandas. She said to Variety, “Toxic is a story that defies convention and is sure to provoke the chaos within us...We hope to bring an experience woven to ignite something primal in all of us – a film not just to be watched, but to be felt."

Yash is on board as a co-writer and co-producer. Mohandas told Variety about the experience, "Co-writing this world with Yash has been a thrilling collaboration, transcending borders, languages, and cultural confines. When our two worlds of thought collided, the result is neither compromise nor chaos —it’s the transformation that happens when artistic vision meets the precision of commercial storytelling."
As for the possible plot, reports suggest Toxic will be about Goa's mafia world and set between the 1950s and 1970s. Given this, the first-look surely fits the scenario with Yash's character likely to be a mafia boss.
Toxic might be released sometime in 2025.
