Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s high-octane military drama ‘Sky Force’ has completed its first week in theatres, pulling in ₹86.76 crore at the Indian box office. While the film had a strong opening, it fell short of the anticipated ₹100 crore mark domestically. Released on January 24, 2025, during the Republic Day weekend, the movie started strong but experienced noticeable ups and downs in its collections over the following days.

Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 8

According to a report from Sacnilk, ‘Sky Force’ saw a rollercoaster performance, with sharp spikes followed by steep drops. By its eighth day till morning shows, the film earned a mere ₹0.12 crore across all languages, a stark contrast to its earlier numbers.

The movie kicked off with an impressive ₹12.25 crore on its opening day, thanks to its strategic Republic Day release. It then surged by 79.59% on Day 2, collecting ₹22 crore. The weekend brought further gains, with the film earning ₹28 crore on Day 3, marking a 27.27% increase from the previous day. This initial success hinted at a potentially strong box office run.

However, the film’s performance began to falter as the weekdays rolled in. On Day 4 (Monday), collections plummeted by 75%, bringing in just ₹7 crore. The downward trend continued on Day 5 (Tuesday), with a 17.86% drop, earning ₹5.75 crore. Day 6 (Wednesday) saw a slight recovery, with a 4.35% increase, bringing in ₹6 crore. Unfortunately, Day 7 (Thursday) dipped again, with a 6% decrease, earning ₹5.64 crore. By Day 8 (Friday), the film had nearly stalled, collecting only ₹0.12 crore.

Despite these fluctuations, ‘Sky Force’ managed to gross ₹86.76 crore in India during its first week—a respectable figure, though below the expectations for a film of its scale. Internationally, the film has fared better, crossing the ₹100 crore mark globally. However, its domestic performance suggests that while the film initially captured audience interest, it struggled to sustain it throughout the week.

The movie received praise for its gripping portrayal of India’s first airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, which helped generate buzz during its opening days. Critics and audiences alike lauded the direction and performances, particularly those of Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya. Yet, despite the early excitement, interest waned quickly after the weekend—a common trend for big-budget action films that rely heavily on their opening momentum.
