Karthik Subbaraj's directorial venture 'Retro,' starring Suriya in the lead role, has managed to cross the ₹50 crore mark at the Indian box office in eight days. However, the film's performance shows concerning signs as daily collections continue to decline sharply.
According to data provided by Sacnilk, the film earned just ₹0.06 crore on its eighth day (till now), bringing the India net total to ₹51.01 crore.

The film made a powerful entry with a ₹19.25 crore collection on Day 1, largely driven by Suriya’s fanbase and the buzz around the film's release. However, the numbers quickly declined, dropping by over 59% on Day 2 to ₹7.75 crore. The weekend saw a minor recovery with ₹8 crore on Day 3 and ₹8.15 crore on Day 4, but weekdays witnessed a consistent fall.

Despite the slow domestic performance, the makers announced on Tuesday that 'Retro' has entered the "100-crore club" with worldwide collections reaching ₹104 crore.
Besides Suriya, ‘Retro’ features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Nassar, and Joju George in key roles. Shriya Saran also appears in a special cameo. Despite this star-studded lineup, the film faced stiff competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 and Nani's HIT: The Third Case, both of which released on the same day.
