The film made a powerful entry with a ₹19.25 crore collection on Day 1, largely driven by Suriya’s fanbase and the buzz around the film's release. However, the numbers quickly declined, dropping by over 59% on Day 2 to ₹7.75 crore. The weekend saw a minor recovery with ₹8 crore on Day 3 and ₹8.15 crore on Day 4, but weekdays witnessed a consistent fall.

Retro Worldwide Collection
Despite the slow domestic performance, the makers announced on Tuesday that 'Retro' has entered the "100-crore club" with worldwide collections reaching ₹104 crore.
Besides Suriya, ‘Retro’ features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Nassar, and Joju George in key roles. Shriya Saran also appears in a special cameo. Despite this star-studded lineup, the film faced stiff competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 and Nani's HIT: The Third Case, both of which released on the same day.
