Retro Box Office Collection Day 5: Suriya and Pooja Hegde's romantic action-drama ‘Retro’ has completed its four-day opening weekend with respectable numbers at the box office. The film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, has consistently performed despite a significant drop after its strong opening day.

According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the film earned approximately ₹0.19 crore across all languages on its fifth day (Monday), maintaining the same collection level as the previous day. This steady performance over the weekend suggests the film has found its audience after the initial drop from its opening numbers.

Retro Movie Day-Wise Collection

The film recorded a strong opening of ₹19.25 crore on Thursday (Day 1), with the Tamil version contributing ₹17.25 crore, the Telugu version adding ₹1.95 crore, and the Hindi version bringing in ₹0.05 crore.

Friday (Day 2) witnessed a significant 59.74% decline, with collections dropping to ₹7.75 crore. The Tamil version accounted for ₹7.05 crore, while Telugu and Hindi contributed ₹0.67 crore and ₹0.03 crore, respectively.

The film showed signs of recovery on Saturday (Day 3), with a slight increase of 3.23% in collections, bringing in ₹8 crore. The language-wise breakdown saw Tamil at ₹7.3 crore, Telugu at ₹0.65 crore, and Hindi at ₹0.05 crore.

According to early reports, Sunday (Day 4) maintained the momentum with estimated collections of ₹8 crore across all languages.

The film's global performance has been noteworthy, with worldwide collections reaching ₹60 crore. According to Sacnilk data, the overseas market has contributed significantly with ₹18.65 crore, while the gross collection in India stands at ₹41.35 crore over the four days.

Retro vs. Hit: The Third Case Comparison

When comparing ‘Retro’ with another recent release ‘HIT: The Third Case,’ several interesting patterns emerge in their box office performances. Both films opened with strong numbers, with ‘HIT: The Third Case’ slightly out performing ‘Retro’ on day one.

Both films experienced similar drop patterns on their second day, with ‘HIT’ falling 50% to ₹10.5 crore and ‘Retro’ dropping 59.74% to ₹7.75 crore. However, while ‘Retro’ showed signs of recovery with a 3.23% increase on Saturday, ‘HIT’ continued to decline slightly with a 0.95% drop. By the fourth day, ‘HIT’ collected ₹9.41 crore compared to ‘Retro's’ ₹8 crore. After five days, ‘HIT: The Third Case’ had accumulated a total of ₹51.47 crore, putting it ahead of ‘Retro's’ five-day total of ₹43.67 crore.
