Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan Breaks Pre-Sale Record In India, Advance Booking Hits Rs 58 Crore

L2: Empyrean starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role is setting extraordinary records in advance sales, reflecting a remarkable boost in audience anticipation. Arpuraan, which is the second installment of 2019 ‘Lucifer’ will release on the big screens on March 27, 2025. Directed by Prithviraj, the all-India advance ticket booking for the film began at 9 am on March 21. The film has earned more than Rs 58 crore in the pre-sale so far.

Mohanlal took to social media to announce the good news saying, “What’s coming … is a whole different beast. 58+ Crores worldwide gross through advance sales for #L2E#Empuraan. In theaters from March 27th.”

On BookMyShow alone, the films saw a pre-sale of over 6,28,000 tickets in just 24 hours, setting a new record in the Indian film industry. Reportedly, no other film has ever sold more than 3,50,000 tickets on the first day of advance booking on the platform. The previous highest record came from Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which sold 3,41,780 tickets, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan stood third with 2,53,000 tickets. L2: Empuraan has minted Rs 12 crore on its first day in India, making it the first film to record the highest advance gross collection.
