The Indian film industry holds the title for being the largest globally and ranks fifth in terms of budget revenue. With movies consistently surpassing the INR 100 crore mark, producers have embraced a greater willingness to invest large sums in their films. 1. Budget Of Adipurush

With a budget ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 700 Crores, the movie (Adipurush) initially gained traction and performed well due to effective marketing and high anticipation under the direction of Om Raut. However, as soon as audience reviews and feedback emerged, negative word-of-mouth began to circulate, leading to a continuous decline in the film's box office earnings. Moneycontrol reports suggest that the movie featuring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon could potentially suffer a loss of Rs. 50 crores or more.

2. Budget of RRR

SS Rajamouli's movie, featuring Prabhas, was produced with a budget of Rs. 550 Crores. This film, which represented India at the Oscars and received the prestigious Best Original Song award, generated a staggering global revenue of Rs.1,275 crore, according to moneycontrol.com. Consequently, it earned nearly twice the amount invested by the filmmakers in the movie's budget.

3. Budget Of Ponniyin Selvan

Ponniyin Selvan: Part One, directed by Mani Ratnam, is an epic tale adapted from the Tamil-language novel of the identical name. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, and Sobhita Dhulipala play prominent roles in the film. It is reported that this movie was made with a substantial budget of Rs. 500 crores. Astonishingly, the film also managed to amass a staggering Rs. 500 crores in revenue. The second part of the film, released six months later, garnered Rs. 350 crores, which amounted to pure profit.

4. Budget Of Brahmastra

Ayan Mukerji aimed to create a film franchise on par with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and brought forth Brahmastra, which received a mixed response upon its release. The film's visual effects received criticism from some viewers while others appreciated them. Furthermore, the story remained incomplete in the first instalment of the trilogy. With reported budget estimates ranging from Rs. 410 crores to as high as 600 crores according to certain reports, the film managed to earn Rs. 431 crores at the box office.

5. Budget Of Radhe Shyam

Following Prabhas' film Saaho, his next project was Radhe Shyam, which featured Pooja Hegde, who also appeared in the recently released Salman Khan starrer, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. With a staggering budget of Rs. 300 crores, Radhe Shyam turned out to be a disastrous venture. According to Moneycontrol, the film only managed to collect approximately Rs. 200 crores at the box office, as reported.
