4. Do not forget to change your toothbrush every two months.

5. Arrange regular dental checkups and cleanings.

6. Clean your tongue every time you brush. Scrape your tongue with a tongue scraper to decrease the bacteria, fungi, and dead cells that can cause odour.

7. Chew on some cloves, fennel seeds, or aniseeds. Their antiseptic qualities help fight halitosis-causing bacteria. You can also chew a piece of lemon or orange rind for a mouth- freshening burst of flavour. The citric acid in these will stimulate the salivary glands and help fight bad breath.

8. Decrease your stress. One natural remedy for reducing bad breath may be to get your stress under control. Bad breath is a sign that both your immune system and microbiome aren’t working the way they should. A lot of stress can damage your immune system and reduce your ability to respond to your environment.

9. Mouthwash is extremely important to eradicate bad breath. Try a 30-second mouthwash rinse that is alcohol-free. Mix a cup of water with a teaspoon of baking soda and a few drops of antimicrobial peppermint essential oil. Do not swallow it!

10. Chomp on some crunchy food. Raw crunchy food cleans the teeth. Apples contain pectin, which helps control food odours and promotes saliva production. Cinnamon is antimicrobial.

11. Did you know daily exercise can be a game changer here?
