Pandemic coronavirus has taken over the world with social distancing and self-isolation becoming the need of the hour. We all have to avoid contact and be very careful when touching surfaces outside especially when we have to go grocery shopping. Here are some tips and guidelibes with few guidelines by WHO as well.
Speaking on how long does the coronavirus last on surfaces, World Health Organization says that it is not certain how long but as per some studies, it may remain on surfaces ranging from a few hours to a few days.
Tthe CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) also looked at previous coronaviruses and said, “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures.”
Should you santise the packages and groceries that you buy? WHO has advised that you clean the surface with a disinfectant and wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water or clean them with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
CDC also shared that “It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.”
